Some very brave people in the unit have decided to set up their own blogs. I am very impressed that they have done this independently. It is very exciting when people get enthused by things they are learning and run with it!
Take a look in our blog roll as I have added their links to it. Please visit their blogs and give them some feedback.
Have a great school photo day!!! And don’t forget to smile

Well, I have seen a lot of things in my time but never a blog written by a Tasmanian Devil! Until now.
http://mrdevil.edublogs.org/2011/10/09/write-the-caption/
Here is a link to a blog written by Davo the Devil, who travels to lots of interesting places. Click on the link and see if you can think up a caption for Davo’s picture. If you can, post on Davo’s blog but also comment under this post so I can see what you’ve done.
Take a look at some of Davo’s other adventures too. We Tasmanians sure do get around!

The votes are in and the winner is ……………….Panda!
As the panda is native to the bamboo forests of China, I asked Hao to help me name our blog pet. We looked at all your posts and so many of you said that the panda was very cute. So we have called our panda Ke Ai (say Kai) which means cute, loveable and sweet in Chinese. Oh dear, all those words could describe Mrs V and Miss C too!
Some of you might like to find out about the panda and post your information here.
Thanks for your help Hao.
Cheers,
Mrs V

As bloggers, it is important that we leave ‘quality’ comments on our blog and on those of other people. After all, we don’t like rubbish around our school so why would we want it in cyberspace?
What do you think a quality comment is like? If we were making a “Guide to Quality Comments” what might we include. I would love to hear your thoughts. Some of you are already experts at writing quality comments, judging from the feedback we have received from other bloggers! Well done you!
If you would like a bit of inspiration check out these videos and look at this post.

I know that many of you would like to adopt a blog pet for the Grapevine. I have created a poll which will allow you to vote for the critter you would like to choose.
Edit: Our poll is not working properly so I have deleted it. Please choose from the following and post your vote as a comment.
Bat, Tiger, Wolf, Panda, Monkey
Voting will close on Wednesday 13th October.

I have added some more blogging challenge blogs to the links sidebar. I would like you to visit any five of these and leave a friendly message. If you are commenting on something, be specific with your feedback. That will be much more interesting to read than “I think your blog is cool”!
Leave a comment to let me know which blogs you visited and if you saw anything great that I should look at! Happy travels

By now, you should have all had time to make and upload your avatar. Now I would like you to post a comment to the blog to tell me a bit about your avatar. This is our first challenge in the 2011 Student Blogging Challenge.
How much does it look like you? What sort of personality does your avatar have? Why did you choose that particular design or image.
I chose to make my avatar look a bit like me. I think the blonde hair is about right and have you noticed that my avatar wears sunglasses on top of her head, just like me! My avatar is also enjoying a lovely hot cup of coffee! Mmmmmmm!

I have just registered us for the 2011 class blogging challenge. We did this last year and it was great fun. One of the best things was the opportunity to “meet” bloggers from all over the world. Stay tuned for some challenges to complete so we can show the world what fantastic bloggers we are!

Hello everyone,
We are going to get serious about our blogging this term so I thought a great way to get started would be to tell me something that you did in the holidays.
I went on a day trip to Stanley with Mr V and the boys and we did some geocaching on the way. Then we went on the chairlift up to the top of the Nut. I enjoyed going up the chairlift but I really, really did NOT enjoy coming down! It was very windy and the seats were getting blown from side to side and there was a great big drop underneath my feet…..eeeeek!!!! Just ask Gus how tightly I held on to the safety bar!
Did you do anything fun, or even a little bit scary?
Remember, when you blog it is important to use everything you know about good writing. Let’s start with making sure we are all using capital letters and full stops in the right place.
Open up a word document. Type in your response to my post. Use the spell check! Then when you think it is perfect, copy and paste it into the comments box. Can’t wait to hear all your holiday gossip!
